The greatest feeling in the world is when you do something nice and unexpected for someone. Sure you can give your time, go to dinner, mini celebrations, but when you really take on different tasks to just help – it is a great feeling. Now, mind you, as I have said before, sometimes the person, who is receiving this nice act, won’t always view it as nice. There is always the suspicion of “what do they want.” (The horrible truth of our society nowadays.)
Today, after just over two years of saying, “I want to fix that bench,” I can now say it has been done. An old park bench, purchased just over ten years ago, faded through time. The elements of our planet “attacked” and won beating it down. Sitting in front of the garden it looked so, well unhappy; ha, missing someone taking a moment to sit and relax on the wooden slats to just relax.
See having the knowledge of how you want to execute a fix on anything is one thing; the other thing is having someone who can fix something. To my Wonderful, I say “thank you” again, because he had knowledge of how to get the fix done. I did get to do all the wood cutting, staining, drilling, picking the parts, and painting. He was there to show me, “okay this is what we use now.”
I have to say that it was so much fun and relaxing to be able to finally have this little project done. It is very much appreciated and admired. Heck, I get to write about it. J
